4 Things We Love About the Brewing Industry

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, those of us at VicinityBrew Software have been thinking about the people and things that we love. One of the things we all love is the brewing industry as a whole. To us, beer is not just any industry. It is filled with unique and delicious varieties of beer, a fun and supportive community, partners who we get to work with, and events that we truly enjoy participating in every year. Here are the top four reasons we love the brewing industry and wouldn’t choose any other industry to be a part of!

Valentines Day

    1. Brews We Love

VicinityBrew has the chance to work with some excellent clients with some extraordinary brews, such as Allagash, Sierra Nevada and Highland. When you work in the craft beer industry, you know that there will always be an abundance of new brews to try and look forward to it.

Our resident coffee fiend Julia Clark shared her personal favorite beer is currently, James Bean by Allagash Brewing Company, which is a bourbon barrel aged, Belgian-style strong ale that is infused with cold press coffee, post fermentation.

“My favorite brew right now is actually a cider, the Dry Cider by Treehorn Cider in Atlanta, Georgia,” says Kaitlyn McKendry, VicinityBrew’s Marketing Manager.

Another favorite brew from the team at VicinityBrew is Shotgun Wedding by Country Boy Brewing.

“I love this particular beer because their use of real vanilla beans in the brew, giving it a taste like no other brew I’ve tried,” says Amanda Gauger.

    1. A Community We Love

The community that we get to be a part of in the brewing industry is another perk that everyone here at VicinityBrew Software absolutely loves. The brewing community is filled with excellent, helpful, fun people. We also enjoy participating with great groups, such as the Brewers Association (BA), Pink Boots Society, Georgia Craft Brewer’s Guild (GCBG), and Brewers of Pennsylvania (BOP). Each of these organizations are extremely beneficial and helpful to us as members of the brewing industry, and we are happy to be a part of them!

Brewing Industry

“You also gotta love the brewers. Part chemist, part biologist, part chef, and of course you gotta love the smell of hops on their clothes after a day of brewing. Brewers love to meet other brewers, share stories, techniques and of course drink each others beers. An incredible community to be part of,” eloquently stated Robert Cosio, VicinityBrew Consultant.

In addition, with our new-ish, weekly Beer of the Week and Women to Watch features, we have had the opportunity to work with many different breweries and women in the brewing industry, both who have been very helpful with these social features. We’ve also had the opportunity to work with some women from the Pink Boots Society, and look forward to the women and breweries we will work on this with in the future!

    1. Partners We Love

VicinityBrew Software is all about delivering the right solution to solve each brewery’s unique needs. We continue working together with our trusted partners to help support growth and excellence for the craft brewing industry. Great partners allow us to extend and enhance our native features to benefit our client community. SkuBrain, MicroStar, TideStone Solutions, and Brewbound are just a few of our valued partners who we enjoy working with, and look forward to creating more partnerships in the future.

  1. Events We Love

There are many great events in the brewing industry that we look forward to attending each year, whether its BrewTalks by Brewbound, Brewbound Sessions, Southern Brewer’s Conference, or any of the local Atlanta beer events, festivals, beer dinners and tap takeovers.

However, we at VicinityBrew especially look forward to, each year, attending and exhibiting at the Craft Brewer’s Conference. This event, which was held in Philadelphia last year and will be in Washington D.C. this April 10-13th, is “the annual highlight encompassing all the things we love about the brewing industry,” says McKendry.

CBC 2017

  • Education – Hear the best tips and tricks, latest trends and general overviews from seasoned brewers who have proved to be experts in their field.
  • Collaboration – An abundance of great beer and great people from across the nation in one place.
  • After Parties – CBC is almost scheduled overkill from breakfast – to sessions – to the BrewExpo floor, so each year we’re sure to make time for some of the awesome parties and entertainment put on throughout the week, which are sure to leave any attendee exhausted – potentially at wits end!

And those are the top four things we at VicinityBrew absolutely love about the brewing industry. We hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine’s Day, and if you would like to learn more about VicinityBrew Software, contact us today! Cheers!
